About Greenhill Farms Equipment, Inc

Greenhill Farms Equipment, Inc., located approximately 11 miles east of Meadville on Route 77, was founded in the late 1960’s. We started out selling reconditioned used tractors, combines, and equipment as a side line to our dairy and grain farming operation.

In 1982, the farming operation was discontinued because the equipment business had grown to a full time operation. New products, starting with Woods Equipment, Zetor tractors, Kioti tractors, and several lines of other equipment and products were added as time went by. More employees were added as the business grew.

Lawn and garden, as well as outdoor power tools were added to the sales and service business. Popular names like Simplicity, White, Troybilt, Snapper, Grasshopper, Dixie Chopper, Shindaiwa, and other premium brands of mowers, trimmers, and chainsaws have been sold and serviced by Greenhill Farms for many years.

Kubota tractors of all sizes, from 15 hp lawn tractors to 120 hp farm tractors, along with loaders, backhoes, mowers, and other attachments have been sold and serviced for several years now, with Greenhill Farms becoming the largest volume dealer in Western Pennsylvania.

The business, started by Leigh and Janet Bowes, has always been operated as a family business. In January, 2004, Roger and Darlene Bowes took over the operation of the business upon the retirement of Leigh and Janet. Roger and Darlene have 4 boys, 3 of whom are involved in daily operations. Donald, Bradley, and Brett. It looks like Greenhill Farms will be around for many years to come. 

Roger says, “Our employees and the service they give our customers is what keeps people coming back to Greenhill Farms for their equipment.” We have 12 employees who get their factory training each year, and we are known for the friendly service we give. Our customers appreciate it by sending their friends to deal with us. It is our customers who have made us grow and we appreciate every one of them.
